About tintlo
A desktop app for Mac and Windows. Press the shortcut, drag a box around anything you don't understand, ask, and tintlo explains it out loud while drawing the answer right on it.
No switching apps, pasting screenshots or reading walls of text. You select the thing, ask, and the answer is drawn on it. tintlo works on Mac and Windows, sees only the box you select, and saves every explanation to your Notebook.
Students, researchers, and anyone at work who gets stuck on something on their screen: a formula, a chart, a paper, a spreadsheet or a confusing setting.
No. Learning Mode gives hints before answers so you actually learn, there is no hidden mode, and schools can pause tintlo during exams.
Using tintlo
Press Control + Option + Space on Mac (Ctrl + Shift + Space on Windows), drag a box around what you need, and ask out loud or type. tintlo starts answering in about a second and a half.
It freezes in place as an image, and tintlo draws its explanation on it. You can drag it aside, and it stays until you close it with the X.
Yes. Everything outside the box stays fully usable, so you can scroll, type and click as normal.
Yes, on Pro and Max: click the mic on the frozen box and ask. The Free plan gives one answer per selection.
Almost anything on your screen: PDFs, spreadsheets, slides, lecture videos, websites and code. Some protected content, like certain streaming video, can't be captured.
A Mac with macOS 14 or later, or a PC with Windows 10 or 11, and an internet connection. There is no phone app or browser extension.
You get a choice of leading AI models, all able to read images, or you can leave it on Auto, which picks the best one for each question.
No. tintlo explains and draws; you stay in control of your computer.
Every explanation, with its screenshot and drawings, saved automatically, searchable, and synced across your computers. You can export it as PDF or Markdown.
English at launch, with more languages coming.
It's very good, but no AI is perfect. Double-check anything important.
Privacy and security
Only the box you select, and only when you ask. Nothing outside it is ever captured, and nothing runs in the background.
A reduced image of your selected box, the text inside it, and your question, so the AI can answer. Your voice is turned into text on your own computer.
No. We never train AI on your data, never sell it, and only work with AI providers whose terms forbid training on it.
On your computer and in our cloud, encrypted. You can delete any entry, or everything, at any time.
Password managers and banking apps are excluded by default, and card numbers are blurred on your computer before anything is sent. You can add your own apps to the excluded list.
No. tintlo's drawings hide automatically during screen shares and come back afterwards.
From Settings in the app. Your account and everything in it are removed within 14 days.
Plans and pricing
Yes. The Free plan includes a daily allowance and the full drawing experience, with no card needed.
Pro is $20 a month ($16 a month billed yearly) and gives 20× Free's usage, follow-up questions and more capable models. Max is $100 a month ($80 a month billed yearly) and gives 5× Pro's usage and our most advanced models.
There are no credits to count. Each plan has a daily allowance, shown as a percentage, that resets every night.
On Free, you wait for the nightly reset. On Pro and Max, our everyday models keep working, so you're never cut off. There are no extra charges, ever.
Yes: 14 days of Pro, no card needed.
There's no separate student plan, but watch for special offers around back-to-school and exam season.
Yes, you can cancel in one click and keep access until the end of your billing period. Refunds are available within 14 days of your first purchase.
Cards and the other methods shown at checkout, handled securely by our payment partner, Paddle. We never see your card details.
